Every card is made for a single person and a single occasion, generated for that pairing and no other, printed on real cardstock, addressed, stamped, and dropped in the mail. Nothing goes to print until you approve it. That is slower than pulling a card off a shelf, and it is the whole idea. We did put "snail" in the name.
Cards are made to order. Production begins after you approve your card, and we confirm a delivery window at that time. Every order is mailed through USPS to the recipient address you give us. If a delivery window changes, we tell you before your card ships.
Because every card is made for one recipient and one occasion, it cannot be resold, so we do not accept returns of delivered cards. If a card arrives damaged, misprinted, or materially different from the version you approved, contact us. We will reprint and remail it at no charge, or refund it in full. Your call.
You can request a full refund at any point before your card enters production. Once production has begun, refunds are handled case by case, and we default to yes when something went wrong on our end. Please contact us at hello@snailmail.cards first. We would rather put it right directly than through your card issuer. If you do file a dispute with your bank, we will respond to it promptly.
An order can be cancelled at no cost until production begins. Once a card has been printed it cannot be cancelled, though the refund policy above still applies if there is something wrong with it.
We collect what it takes to make and mail a card: your email address, and the recipient's name and mailing address. Payment details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by Snailmail. Recipient addresses are used to mail your card and for nothing else. We do not sell them and we do not share them. To ask what we hold, or to have it deleted, email hello@snailmail.cards.
All transactions are processed in US dollars (USD).
